RIPPLES IN THE POND
...if we could see all the ripples that occur from what we think and do...
What would happen, if you thought it was up to you to change the world you live in? If you knew that what you thought, felt, and did in your life had a direct impact on your life and the world around you, would you do anything different?
I have been looking at this question for a while now. In the past, I have felt like so many others, that what we think or do will not make a difference, especially in the larger picture. We usually do not get to see the impact that our actions have on the world, or have any idea that some of the effects around us had anything to do with us. When I first heard that how we think, feel and act affects our world around us, I did not believe it, but just in case it did work that way, I figured why not act as if it did. Now, I have been seeing evidence in my life that this is the case.
Maybe if we could see all the ripples that occur from what we think and do, with both our loving or fearful thoughts, we would believe that they do make a difference, and be more aware of what state we are in. In addition, we would be much more confident that even the smallest kind deed might have powerful results A good example of this is in the movie It’s a Wonderful Life.
I am concerned that what most ails the world is that so many people believe that they are at the effect of their world, not at cause. Some believe they are helpless, that they are alone, and can’t do anything to change their life or the world around them. So again I ask, would you change the way you lived your life, if you really knew deep in your heart that even your smallest action, coming from a loving state of being, could turn the whole course of events in the world around for the better? I think it would be a big YES!
